How the Transloading and Cross-Docking Process Works

One Coordinated Process

Plan the transfer

Share the cargo type, origin terminal or rail location, equipment, weight, handling needs, and destination.

Coordinate the inbound move

Freight can be moved from the port, rail ramp, or another origin to the New Jersey facility through the appropriate drayage or trucking plan.

Unload and inspect

The team receives the freight, confirms the handling requirements, and prepares it for sorting, stripping, palletizing, consolidation, or direct transfer.

Reconfigure the load

Cargo is transferred to the outbound equipment required for the next leg. If storage is needed, the shipment can move into the related warehousing workflow.
